TELL THE POLITICIANS - NOW !
The 2008 4th Edition Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey (media release here , Demographia here , Scoop articles here , Demographia latest news here ) shows that New Zealand's first home buyers are being FORCED TO PAY OVER TWICE AS MUCH for new starter homes - in comparison with many of their counterparts in North America. That's simply not fair.
All because central and local government is CURRENTLY NOT ALLOWING affordable housing to be built.
First home buyers should not have to pay any more than three times their annual household income for a new home.
They should not be forced to be "mortgage slaves" - carrying an excessive mortgage for the benefit of the Banks.
Or paying rent for the benefit of Landlords.
